For the fifth year in a row, Supply Value has conducted the IT Trends Survey. In this survey, we ask professionals working in or with IT about the expected IT Trends for the coming year. We map not only which trends these are, but also which applications are relevant within IT and what the impact is on the business. The purpose of this research is to support information management and technology professionals in setting priorities and determining the right focus. Below you can see the top 10 IT trends for next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2024 IT Trends Survey delivers clear conclusions, replacing last year’s top three with re-emerging trends. Artificial Intelligence (AI) leads the list, followed by Cloud and Cyber and data security. These developments have made significant progress in accessibility and relevance over the past year, which means organisations are now placing them prominently on the 2024 agenda.<\/p>\n

A broader analysis reveals three streams of trends: data applications, information security, and strategic trade-offs for in- and outsourcing. Digital transformation and Digital leadership complete the 2024 top 10 as overarching trends.<\/p>\n

AI<\/strong>‘s top spot is explained by the rise of ChatGPT and other chatbots, bringing its applications more into the spotlight. Respondents emphasise the desire to use AI to make (customer) processes faster and more effective, making the potential for 2024 high.<\/p>\n

Cloud<\/strong>, in second place, ensures continuity and quality of services, according to respondents, while offering flexibility and security in information management. Cyber and data security<\/strong> remains crucial because of the complexity and connectivity with AI and cloud services, as well as growing digital threats.<\/p>\n

Digital transformation<\/strong> and Security awareness<\/strong> follow in the top five, with the former focusing on scalability and new ways to deliver value, and the latter on eliminating vulnerabilities and ensuring continuity through employee awareness.<\/p>\n

Business Intelligence<\/strong>, Data-driven decision-making<\/strong>, In- and outsourcing and the transition to a directional organisatio<\/strong>n comprise the sixth, seventh and eighth positions, respectively. These trends focus on understanding organisational success, analysing data for decision-making, and strategically considering IT outsourcing.<\/p>\n

The ninth and tenth positions are occupied by Digital leadership<\/strong> and Big data<\/strong>. Digital leadership emphasises the effective use of new technologies in organisational strategy, while Big data is used for analysis and optimisation purposes, with a clear connection to BI and data-driven decision-making.<\/p>\n
