For the ninth year in a row, Supply Value has surveyed key trends and priorities within the procurement profession. The results of the procurement trends survey can help procurement professionals set priorities and determine focus areas for the upcoming year. In addition, this survey pays attention to the main themes following the corona crisis.
Using a survey, 389 procurement professionals shared their perspectives on the future. The survey was distributed in collaboration with NEVI, VIB, Purchasing Cafe and Procurement Cafe. The majority of respondents, 316 (81%), work in the Netherlands, followed by Belgium with 61 (16%). In the survey, we asked respondents to indicate how much priority they plan to give to 16 themes related to procurement in 2021. In addition, respondents were asked about the procurement themes that will structurally take on a different role as a result of the corona crisis. The results of the survey show that the procurement function is increasingly viewed as strategic with close relationships with suppliers at its core. Furthermore, the results show that procurement professionals are becoming increasingly aware of the need to properly manage the environment and design processes accordingly.
