Dealing with uncertainty within the supply chain is an increasingly important topic for supply chain managers. It makes decision-making more difficult and often solutions to meet ever-changing customer demand are not easy to find.

Creating a very stable supply chain in which all parts are visible seems like a pipe dream. While we believe that complete visibility and objective decision-making may not be possible, we do believe that Integrated Business Planning (IBP) can support multiple processes within the supply chain, allowing supply chain decisions to be made more objectively.

This white paper is the first of our series on IBP. We describe the elements you need to consider when implementing IBP by providing guidelines for making supply chain decisions and linking them to business strategy.
